Sam and I teamed up during a very difficult period in my personal and professional life. Relying on her enneagram expertise in particular, our Leadership Coaching sessions together provided immense value as an enabler to reflect on my past, develop productive practices in the present, and form resilience to take forward into my future endeavours

I started working with Sam when  my work life had a massive change. It had shifted from not working with a team to managing 6 people. I knew I needed to work on my leadership skills and the type of leader I wanted to be. Working with Sam allowed me to recognize the leader I wanted to be – a ‘Strategic Leader with the Human Connection’ and one that will leave a lasting impression on the people that I work with. I began working with Sam at the Seva Collective when I was going through a huge transition in my life. I had just resigned from a corporate “9 to 5” to pursue the entrepreneurial life and was uncertain about so many things. Leadership Coaching has been a massive value for me. I have learned more about myself and my worthiness. It has given me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone and to have an open mind to new opportunities. The most important value for me has been to learn about my Identity and who I am, which has enabled the passion and desire to push forwards and enjoy my Journey towards my destination. Exploring effective communication with clients and the people around me, improved the client-therapist relationship. A wonderful outcome has been experiencing income generation growth and business sustainability.

Before connecting with Sam, I had completed an Enneagram , but the Five Lens Enneagram experience was one with Steroids. It has really helped me know myself and to work on my blind spots. She has also taken the extra steps to get me to understand my directors and how best I can compliment our styles to make a greater impact.  Amazing experience. Thanks Sam, working with you has been mind changing and transformational.

Learning about my Enneagram Style changed how I saw myself…in the most positive ways…I realised I that I have been shaped this way through my childhood, experiences and life’s context….I now understand who I am and that I am enough!

I have been lucky enough to team up with Sam in leadership coaching sessions over about two years now. I am a yoga teacher and own and run a yoga studio, so a holistic approach and balance in all aspects of life is important to me, and Sam offers just that. he programme makes it very evident that emotions and human beings are inseparable, and that makes the understanding of emotions equivalent to oxygen. What impacted me the most was the experience of being coached and coaching with emotions at the center. It is distinctly different from every other type of coaching out there and Dan is a Master Coach. Highly recommend this journey of emotional literacy and emotion centered coaching.

Dan has a way of holding a heavy and uncomfortable conversations with compassion and lightness. This is not such a straightforward topic and Dan took us on this journey with simplicity and encouraged us to find our own truth. In doing so, I unpacked the distinction of doubt and self-doubt, of how an idea has become a practiced belief and that what is needed is a correction in thinking and not in the being and stepping into dignity as the segway into liberating oneself.

The programme offered me a new perspective on how to view imposter syndrome, gave me some new distinctions to facilitate a deepening of my self-observations and the language and bodily practices of how to shift to a more empowered emotional orientation that will stand me in good stead for the rest of my life. If you have ever struggled with moments of self-doubt, lack of confidence, feeling not good enough or less than in any way, both personally and professionally, do yourself a favour and do this programme with Dan Newby! I walked away with new language, new ways to see myself, and a deep embodied shift into my own Dignity. I also have simple yet profound practices now to strengthen my Dignity and self-worth in a way that is grounded and confident. I can honestly say that the myriad ways in which I wasted my innate talents through running old, outdated limiting beliefs are a thing of the past. It’s liberating!

This course is ideal for anyone who struggles with feeling like they don’t belong, despite their accomplishments. From before the class started to the end of the session, Dan did a great job at digging deeper to what "Imposter" or feelings of unworthiness, or feeling small or intimidated, or being fearful mean to each person in the session and gave us ways to bring awareness and practice to changing those feelings both in personal and professional life. Very validating to be surrounded by others experiencing the same feelings as I even in different stages in their careers.

Thank you for sharing your work and model for emotional resilience so freely. It was well worth my time, even at 6:00 am PST. I teach a model, or steps, to emotional resilience. Your five steps explain the process within my step “manage emotions for yourself” (feel them to heal them). In fact, I’ve been mystified as to how feeling the uncomfortable emotions enables them to move. Your emotional resilience steps describe explain it. Such a useful tool to help people when they feel lost in low emotions and to navigate them. I really appreciate your giving them to share with our clients, with grateful retribution, of course!
