Five Emotional Imperatives of Leadership Programme

There are many lenses through which we can consider leadership. One of the least used, is emotions.

What are the Five Emotional Imperatives of Leadership?

01

Every leader can consider their level of Energy: what is enough, what is too little, how to refresh and how to sustain energy levels.

02

Every leader faces the question of Assurance: to what degree do they trust themselves, their team, their stakeholders, the market and the future.

03

Every leader must remain aware of the significance and importance of how they Regard and value the people in their organisation and their clients.

04

Every leader has the opportunity to make key choices about Proximity: the degree of proximity or space they choose to maintain with each interaction.

05

Every leader can strengthen their Resilience: the ability to rebound from or adapt to unexpected events.

In his original and powerful approach to leadership, Dan Newby will lead you through the Five Emotional Imperatives or considerations that affect every leader. This immersive course will reframe the questions you ask yourself and the skills you choose to learn and  in doing so, will strengthen your standing, influence and effectiveness.

Beyond Imposter Syndrome Programme

How would life improve if you could shake the feeling that you are “not enough”?

It’s called ‘imposter syndrome’, low self-esteem, believing you are a fake or phony, feeling like a fraud, or unworthy. We’re often told that the way to overcome this sense of “not being enough” is by thinking positive thoughts or to “fake ’till you make it”. Anyone who has tried those knows that they might help but aren’t enough to permanently change the way you feel about yourself.

All that we do as humans stems from emotions because they are the energy that moves us to act. Every emotion is co-creative with a specific story. When we realise this relationship and the logical structure of emotions and moods we can begin to use them as a tool and life skill.

the programme

A 3-part live Zoom-hosted course with others who are similarly challenged to learn tools and practices that will change your life. Each session is 90 minutes long and held an atmosphere of trust and intimacy.

The course is designed and presented by Dan Newby, a long-time coach, author on the topic of emotions and emotional literacy, and founder of the School of Emotions. He designed this course based on 20 years of coaching clients who struggle with self-esteem and are ready to change.

“Beyond Imposter Syndrome” is based on emotional learning. It is not therapy nor a replacement for therapy.

It is a course of study that helps participants expand their emotional vocabulary and recognise their emotional blind spots.

  • Anyone who is interested in an immersive, practice-based exploration to shift their sense of self-worth.
  • Leaders, managers, consultants, coaches or others who want to learn how to lead a conversation by leveraging emotions as a tool.
  • That even very successful people, like you, sometimes live with the belief they are ‘not enough’.
  • That you have the ability to change what you believe about yourself.
  • To identify emotions that are provoking your challenge and emotions that will support you to overcome it.
  • Practices for self-empowerment.
  • A path forward based on dignity, self-respect, and self-care.
  • …and you will connect and build relationships with other participants who will support you on this learning journey.
  • This programme is presented as three 90-minute sessions in consecutive weeks.
  • Due to the confidential nature of this programme, no recordings of the sessions will be available and no AI enabled transcription tools will be allowed in the sessions.
  • Beyond each weekly session, you will benefit from 1-hour additional time to complete reflective practices or complete small assignments between sessions.
  • The programme is costed at $295. This includes 4.5 hours of live online learning, Dan’s presentation deck and learning resources.
  • If you are interested in this course and the full investment is currently beyond your means, please CONNECT with us at The SEVA Collective to explore options
  • Each participant will receive a certificate of completion issued by the School of Emotions reflecting 4.5 International Coaching Federation (ICF) Core Competency CCEUs and 4.5 National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching CEs.
  • Dan Newby will be available for conversations about learning or coaching challenges as requested for the duration of the programme. This is a wonderful value-add and we invite participants to take advantage of this offer.

Strengthening Emotional Resilience - Masterclass

Join The SEVA Collective for an impactful Masterclass led by Dan Newby, founder of the School of Emotions.

How Emotionally Resilient do you feel and what are some of the factors which support your resilience, or are there situations which challenge your ability to cope?

Emotional Resilience relates to one’s ability to cope with, and to recover from, stress inducing situations, adversity and crises. (It is the inverse of stress) and the ‘spring’ that allows us to bounce back from surprises and shocks. We don’t think much about resilience until we feel the lack of it, often using words like exhausted, burned-out or being in a downward spiral to describe how we’re feeling.

The capacity to deal with challenging situations varies across individuals and people with high levels of emotional resilience still experience stressors, they have however managed to learn and develop coping mechanisms that enable them to deal with adversity. This includes navigating thought patterns and emotions which helps them to remain relatively optimistic and protects them from burn-out and spiraling into a self-care crisis.

When Emotional Resilience is low, we often find ourselves “caught” or “stuck” in unhelpful emotions and we lack the ability to respond effectively. When  Emotional Resilience is high, we are able to recover our emotional center so that we can move forward.

Strengthening Emotional Resilience allows leaders to navigate the demands of their many stakeholders in a rapidly changing landscape and to manage their reactions to unexpected events and remain flexible, which is crucial in dynamic and evolving environments.

In our quarterly masterclass, led by Dan Newby, we will be unpacking how you can “Strengthen Emotional Resilience” and he will work with a volunteer to demonstrate how a deeper understanding of “Emotional Resilience” can lead to new possibilities.

the masterclass

  • Why ‘Strengthening Emotional Resilience’ is an important Adaptive Leadership Skill

  • How ‘Emotional Resilience’ is supported by a robust emotional vocabulary and understanding

  • How we can be intentional about developing ‘Emotional Resilience’ systemically as a skill which we can all develop and strengthen

  • How ‘Emotional Resilience is a vital part of self-care and that we build it holistically by taking care of our whole selves and develop mastery through practice

  • How ‘Emotional Resilience’ supports our capacity to lead and support others

  • The masterclass is costed at $25.00. This includes 1.5 hours of live online learning, Dan’s presentation deck and learning resources.
